Surrey's swooping swerving dual carriageway
A trip up and down the A24 between Leatherhead and Dorking - a dual carriageway with a difference. Built in the 1930s to fit the twisting Mole Valley, the Mickleham Bends have become a notorious accident blackspot.
Filmed on 26 May 2009, this video takes in the old road southbound through the woods and the famous curve on the bypass itself, before spinning around at Box Hill to see the different way the road makes the northbound journey. It was a pioneering road when it was built but you'd never build anything like it today!
