M6/A6 interchange culvert works, view west (see all photos of the same view)

The existing culvert carrying a small watercourse under the M6 needs to be extended because the embankment it carries will be widened. To extend it, the existing embankment has been partially dug out so that the flow of water can be diverted through a temporary break in the culvert. That in turn means the ends of the structure are not carrying water and can be worked on.
