Bamber Bridge roundabout, view south (see all photos of the same view)

Bamber Bridge roundabout has been completed for some time; now the terminal roundabout beyond it is also looking more or less finished. It will shortly be opened to traffic as a diversion route when the south-facing sliproads at M6 junction 29 are closed for reconstruction. At the very bottom of the picture topsoil has been removed where the A6 will be dualled.

The forever bottleneck, part 1

The M4 into London was one of the UK's earliest and most ambitious motorway projects. It was bold, pioneering... and almost instantly regretted.
