M61 interchange and Brindle Road overbridge, view south (see all photos of the same view)

Construction of the new bridge to carry the roundabout continues, having only started in the last three months. Until then the old Brindle Road bridge stood in the way. Underneath, the M61 is restricted to two lanes in each direction, and has been for many months; the northbound carriageway (on the right) will actually never operate with three lanes again and will be repainted with only two as part of this project.
