M61 interchange, view east (see all photos of the same view)

The viaduct across the M61 now has a complete bridge deck and is connected to road bed at each side - a long length of it stretches away into the distance. The new junction is taking shape, except on the left, where the bridge that will carry the north side of the roundabout over the M61 has only been started in the last couple of months.

What's new

The forever bottleneck, part 1

The M4 into London was one of the UK's earliest and most ambitious motorway projects. It was bold, pioneering... and almost instantly regretted.

London, in a new light

It was specially designed never to be noticed. And now it's disappearing, nobody has noticed its absence. It's London's own bespoke street light.

Have you seen...

Above the M8

Go to Glasgow and it's almost inevitable that you'll use the M8. The views of the city surrounding it are really quite unique.
