A13
A13 and M25 J30 Congestion Relief Scheme 23 May 2017
The aims of the scheme are to increase capacity and reduce congestion on a busy section of the A13 between M25 J30 and the A126 Lakeside access. Improvement of the transport infrastructure in this area is seen as critical to the further development of the Lakeside Basin and Thames Gateway.
Exact details are still to be finalised, but the scheme is likely to include improvements to M25 J30 and widening of the A13. The restricted access junction of the A13 and A126 (Lakeside) may also be targeted.
The start of development work was announced on 08 May 2012.
A13 Sadlers Farm Improvement 7 October 2014
Construction of a new underpass linking the A13 dual carriageway from London to the A130, allowing traffic to flow more easily between the A13, A127 and A130 dual carriageways avoiding the current interchange at Sadlers Farm. The "magic roundabout" will be rebuilt into a standard signalised as part of the works.
A short new link connects the A13 directly to Canvey Island.
A13 Thames Gateway 26 October 2008
Upgrade of the A13 between Barking and Docklands to grade-separated dual carriageway route. Despite Transport for London's anti-car policies, the scheme continues to go ahead because it is part of a private-finance DBFO contract that was let when the A13 was in the hands of the Highways Agency.
