Scheme outline
Completion of the link between M74 at Polmadie and M8/M80 at Provan. Two earlier phases have already been completed: Phase 1 is New Rutherglen Road, Oatlands, completed in 2007; Phase 1A runs from Polmadie to Shawfield, completed in 2010; and Phase 2 runs from the River Clyde to Parkhead, opened in 2012.
This final section comprises 1.4 km of 4-lane carriageway, with 2 terminal and 2 intermediate junctions. An eight-span viaduct will carry the road over the Glasgow-Airdrie railway line.
