Reconstruction of Longman Roundabout, the junction of the A9 and A82 north-east of Inverness, to provide a grade-separated junction and allow the A9 to flow uninterrupted through the interchange.
No specific layout has been selected yet, but options under consideration include a grade-separated roundabout interchange and a simpler diamond interchange.
Ground investigation work is scheduled to take place during September 2018, according to Transport Scotland.
