The scheme also includes Cutteslowe (or Summerstown) Roundabout and the section of single carriageway A40 linking the two. Improvements include signalising both roundabouts and adding safer pedestrian crossing facilities.
An additional lane will be provided on the A40 for eastbound traffic between the two roundabouts.
A340 Thornycroft Roundabout improvements 30 September 2016
As part of a range of improvements to junctions around Basingstoke, Hampshire County Council propose to improve the A340-A3010-B3400 Thornycroft Roundabout to relieve the congestion it frequently suffers.
Similar to the plans for other nearby junctions, widening is proposed for all approaches to provide additional lanes, more lanes will be provided on the gyratory itself, and entry points will be controlled by traffic lights. The north west quadrant will have a segregated lane leading onto Churchill Way West. There will also be improvements for pedestrian crossings.

Modifications to Queens Roundabout in Farnborough, at the junction of the A325 and the A3011 Lynchford Road which links to the A331. The roundabout will be modified to increase the number of lanes and will have traffic signals fitted to all four approaches.
The aim of the scheme is to improve traffic flow and management in anticipation of new residential and commercial developments on the Farnborough Airfield site (ex-Royal Aircraft Establishment).

A282 Dartford Crossing Remote Payment Scheme 6 February 2016
This project will remove the permanent toll boths from both sides of the Dartford Crossing, the busiest river crossing in the UK and a major source of congestion. In its place will be an electronic congestion charge scheme allowing payment in advance or by midnight the day following the crossing.
The toll plazas will be replaced with four continuous traffic lanes in each direction and a holding area for special loads.
M20 Junction 10A 8 January 2016
Provision of a new junction 10A on the M20, and associated A2070 link road, to provide improved access to South Ashford.
The new junction will essentially form a single junction complex incorporating the existing junction 10, with two interlinked roundabout interchanges.
The new link road will be dualled and will meet the existing A2070 at a signalized T-junction.
A28 Sturry Link Road 4 January 2016
Construction of a new single two-lane road to bypass the level crossing at Sturry where the A28 crosses the Canterbury-Ramsgate railway line.
The new road will allow through traffic to avoid delays caused by the level crossing and will open up land to the west of Sturry to new development, where Kent County Council expects the construction of up to 1,000 new houses.
At the eastern end of the new road, a short spur will connect to the A291.
Hastings to Bexhill Link Road 16 December 2015
Construction of a new single two-lane road to link the outskirts of Bexhill and Hastings, and designed to ease congestion on the A259 by providing a second main road link between the towns.
The new road will be a total of 5.6km long, running from the A259 in Bexhill to a junction with the B2092 Queensway in Hastings. The route largely follows the disused Bexhill to Crowhurst railway line. There will be an additional climbing lane eastbound towards the junction with Queensway.
The main junctions on the road will be signal controlled.
M27 J3 Improvement 15 October 2015
Work to improve the interchange where the M271 meets the M27 at junction 3, as part of the Government "Pinch Point Programme".
This scheme will include widening of the M27 westbound exit sliproad to three lanes, widening of the M271 northbound and southbound approaches to three lanes, and removal of the eastern overbridge hard shoulder to allow three lanes on that side of the roundabout.
