A606 Melton Mowbray Distributor Road

Scheme outline

Construction of a new single two-lane road around the north and east sides of Melton Mowbray to carry the A606 around the outside of the town.

The new road will run from the A606 Nottingham Road, near the junction of St Bartholomew's Way, to the north of Melton Country Park and south-west of Twinlakes Park, and end on the A606 Burton Road just north of Burton Lazars.

A total of six roundabouts will connect the new road to the existing road network, with one at each end and four at intermediate junctions with Scalton Road, Melton Spinney Road, the A607 Thorpe Road and the B676 Saxby Road.

The road is being part-funded by the Department for Transport, and is expected to support the construction of 4,500 new homes in the coming decade.
